Rangers are now reportedly on the verge of securing Danny Rohl’s first signing at the club in the form of a £4m midfield star.

Rohl: Rangers "working 24/7" on January arrivals

It’s been a good week for Rangers – arguably the best of Rohl’s short Ibrox career – and they now find themselves just three points behind Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts, albeit having played an extra game.

From an impossible job, the Gers have found themselves in a title race and are now working on new signings “24/7”, according to Rohl in the hope of completing quite the comeback.

Those at Ibrox are unlikely to rush into any deals that they’re unsure of following such a disastrous summer. There will, however, be plenty of faith that they can get things right this time around without Kevin Thelwell at the helm.

As such, a number of reported targets have already emerged. The likes of Jens Hjerto-Dahl have been mentioned more than once, for example, and he remains one to watch for the rest of the window. In terms of replacing Nicolas Raskin the long-term, Hjerto-Dahl should be seen as an ideal option for the Gers.

The same can also be said for another midfield star. According to TeamTalk on Thursday, Rangers are on the verge of signing Tochi Chukwuani from Sturm Graz in a deal worth around £4m. The 22-year-old can play left-midfield as well as central midfield and looks likely to become the first signing of the Rohl era.

The Dane, who stands at 6’1, is now awaiting permission to travel to Scotland for a medical at Rangers before officially becoming their first January signing.

It's a Barron repeat: Rangers target now wants to move to Ibrox this month

Glasgow Rangers are expected to make a new offer for a star who could be a repeat of Connor Barron at Ibrox.

The deal itself has reportedly been led by technical director Dan Purdy, who will be looking to avoid a repeat of Thelwell’s failure and land a player capable of pushing Rangers towards title success.

Dubbed “powerful” by Scottish Premiership analyst Kai Watson, Chukwuani should instantly compete for a place in Rohl’s side. The German set his sights on what he believes to be the perfect profile for his midfield and is set to welcome exactly that in the coming days.
